Who Are We?

Our Purpose:
When we are unexpectedly affected by health impairments, we are at our most vulnerable and may sense a loss of control from circumstances of the unknown. Aurora’s purpose is to assist you to regain that control through providing education, fierce advocacy, and individualized skilled nursing care within the security and comfort of your home.

Our Vision:
Healthcare is a field of ongoing change, and our services are provided during times one most needs the security of consistency. We embrace our duty to remain vigilant in keeping with the most current standards of practice to provide equitable, skillful, and reliable care for our clients in their home.

Our Mission:
We recognize and respect the intimate setting of one’s home and understand no one cares for a loved one better than one’s own family. Our mission is to provide thoughtful and equitable nursing care while acknowledging our client’s and caregiver’s individual needs. Treating present and future clients and caregivers as we would our own family and with a positive spirit for service.

Our Story

We are a locally owned and operated family business located in Williamsville, NY, a suburb of Buffalo. Dedicated to providing outstanding service and committed to honor our caregivers who serve.

Since 1987, we have had the privilege to serve our communities as a licensed home care service agency (LHCSA) administering skilled nursing services to medically fragile children and adults in the comfort and security of their own home throughout nine (9) counties of WNY.
• Allegany, Cattaraugus,
• Chautauqua, Erie,
• Genesee, Niagara,
• Orleans, Wyoming and
• Monroe (since 2017)

Aurora’s professional, experienced, and specially trained registered nurses and licensed practical nurses exceed all requirements regulated by the NYS Department of Health and are thoroughly background checked. In your home, they will follow your doctor’s plan of treatment to provide a full range of clinical care. We take a holistic approach to care for our clients, providing comfort and peace of mind for their primary caregiver and family as well.

In April 2001, Michael Reda, president of Aurora, Consulting with the mother of an intensively managed client, recognized flaws within Licensed home care. Her dissatisfaction of the overall system inspired their collaboration to design the Family Directed Home Care Program. This one-of-a-kind program was created as a direct response in recognition of challenges many clients and families faced when they would assert authority over the management of care for their loved one. Family Directed Home Care allows the Client or responsible family member autonomy to recruit, retain, and schedule their nurses as independent contractors consistent with a prescribed authorization for skilled RN or LPN nursing service without sacrificing the supervision of their care. We are not a registry or placement agency, and do not charge a fee to our caregivers.

The name Aurora Home Care is synonymous with empowering our clients and their families through education and fierce advocacy while providing holistic, skilled nursing with individualized plans of care.

Our choice to focus on one area of home care allows us to personalize and assure successful delivery of home care services; not only promoting the clients most optimal level of health but to also maintain stability for our clients, their families, and our nurses with ongoing, consistent, dependable care.
