Some seasoned clients and families desire to participate more actively in the ongoing process of managing their care and services. Family Directed Home Care offers the self-directing, independent client or family the autonomy to recruit, retain and schedule their nurses as independent contractors under a service agreement with Aurora without sacrificing ongoing supervision of their staff.

These contracting nurses DO NOT require a Medicaid number. Contracted nurses commit to clients and families by signing individualized service agreements. This assures the client and the family their recruitment and retention efforts will not be in vain. The nurse remains with them and is not “pulled” to cover a different case.

Recruiting nurses as independent contractors allows them to enjoy a higher rate of pay.
